Commonwealth countries adopt statement on promoting human rights in and through sport

Article 30 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) guarantees the Right to participate in recreation, leisure and Sport. This recent statement from the Commonwealth underscores the importance of promoting human rights through sport and the importance of guaranteeing Commonwealth Citizens with disabilities the right to participate in sports on an equal basis with others.
